You referring to Troy, the chief of brand bashers? - Bird_FreakExplorer IIAnybody notice how nice and civil this thread was going until the brand bashing kids got started? Are you boys ever going to mature?
- boshogExplorerI think the bigger power numbers are for the bragging rights and to attract attention to them. Their money is from retail sales, not commercial sales. Fleet sales are important but are low content low profit vehicles that are detuned to protect the driveline.
Go sit down at the Kentucky Truck Plant and what what goes out the door, they are retail trucks. - JIMNLINExplorer IIIGM/Ram or Ford isn't selling or design and producing a truck just for rvers to pull their rv around a few times a summer but rather commerce which is their bread and butter.
Right now bigger hp/torque numbers from Ford will attract more of this type of LDT owners for them.
Rv folks can enjoy the uprates or complain about them - Cummins12V98Explorer III

The sound you just heard was the air being let out of the sails of all the Ford fans who were sure it would come in at 500/1000.

- Me_AgainExplorer IIIMy cousin's hair dresser told me the torque was going to be 925, so that was my guest. She screwed me up on the HP however. She most likely stood to close to one of the hair dryers once to often. Chris

Towing just got easier
At what cost? I got a new 385/865 4x4 3500 Laramie for 53,555 10 months ago. Think the 2017 F350 nicely trimmed will come within 10K of that?
And what does "Towing just got easier" really mean?
That logic alludes me.
What tires are they putting on SRW trucks that will allow a rated 18K trailer to be pulled. I am going to be tight on pin weight with a 16K rated trailer with a truck that has a 7K RGAWR.
Please expound! Chris
