I have owned three PSDs... A 95 which had the best power.. Not on paper, but the best power of all I have owned.. A 97 and an 02.. All 3 were 7.3s... the 95 and the 97 had rear galley plug leaks behind the heads, they both had glow plugs and relay issues. The thing that burnt me the most was changing oil.. Who in the heck made a washer to seal the oil pan??? They would drip oil and id have to replace that stupid washer. Id much rather see a connection rod come out the side of the block than to see oil drips on my garage floor.. The 02 Lariat had a high pressure pump that went belly up. I loved the 02 the best. However, due to buying a larger 5th wheel I traded the 02 in on a New 04 Ram... The Fords ride and comfort was much better Than the ram. However, they Drivetrain on the Ram was far superior to the 7.3...We just bought a 15 Ram Laramie and it has a Cadillac Ride and interior and is super quiet.. Looking at the Ford, it appears to me that Ram has surpassed the Fords... Now with locking tailgates, back up cameras and a bed camera. A real DEF gauge, XM, Connect, rear auto leveling rear suspension. Puck system, ... and all... I looked at the Ford and when we raised the hood it was like,OMG where is the engine?...Im sure the Fords are great... I just prefer the Rams.... The Cummins Aisin is a Great Combo....
