So do most people use T/H when not towing?
Thanks for all the feedback. It's good to know to not expect much more than 30k miles on his Firestones.
He's running 80psi on all 4 Firestones all the time. I suggested decreasing pressure to ~65psi to soften the ride but he said the manual says run them at 80psi. I haven't read the manual to know how it's worded. Where should he have his tire pressure unloaded?
I do not run T/H all the time. I will turn it on empty once in a while, like on a off ramp or going down a steep hill.
Regarding air pressure, the placard in the door jam of the SRW trucks reads 60 or 65 front and 80 rear, which is for a fully loaded truck.
With 3500's like mine you can lower the rears to 40 or so empty to improve ride and handling without the tire pressure nanny going nuts like the 2500's do. 3500's have a tire pressure display available without the nanny feature of alarming on a low tire. I leave the next screen below the digital speedo set to tire pressure, so one push of the down button on the steering wheel gives me a look at tire pressure and a push of up brings back the speedo.
