How our memories deceive us. I was towing all kinds of equipment and supply trailers with those 1970's era pickups and they were nowhere nearly as competent as our modern versions. Brakes, steering, suspension, tires, engines all have gotten much better. LOL
Exactly!..I had the chance to compare my old 1976 Ford F-250 to my new(at the time) 2008 Ford F-150 pulling a 30ft travel trailer at about 8500 lbs,loaded.
The 2008 F-150 was superior in every way pulling the new travel trailer, compared to the older F-250, which in it's time,was a camper hauling machine.This F-250 was considered a HD, not light duty, F-250 in it's day.
