Let's not get melodramatic. :B I think my "worst case" number is 9-9.5K#. LOL And that's adding 2K# to the listed dry weight of the TT.
Let me revise my statement...please don't pull your 9K load with an aluminum can F150. The point is well made without focusing on the exact wording.
Again, it's only people who reside in the RV world mindset that ever talk about pulling heavy loads with little trucks. Why is that? I've never seen other towing-related sectors have this discussion. I always shake my head when I see threads pop up where people are throwing out all their numbers and weights to try and determine whether or not their combo is good to go. Why live so close to the edge?? Get a truck that you know can haul the load without worrying about whether or not you have enough payload left to add a table cloth or a another pair of shoes.
As a point of reference...I just purchased a Duramax that's rated at 13,200 pounds towing. That's only 1K more pounds than the referenced F150. I knew that GM has the lowest rated tow numbers going in, so I'm not trying to deflect anything here. But are you telling me that the new F150 is "almost" as capable as 3/4 ton Duramax (910 ft-lbs torque BTW)? LOL...I'll keep living in the real world if you don't mind...
