An F-150 is not an F-150. That is, my previous F-150 had a 200 hp "low emissions" motor, four or five speed transmission, towing package, and an extra load spring leaf.
It did just fine with a 2600 lb PUP. Not so well with a 25 ft TT. Slow to accelerate and difficult to maintain 60 mph without down shifting. It rode and stopped just fine.
My current F-150 has 356 hp and does just fine with my 25 ft. TT.
The point, all TV's have a load ratings, they work best when at or below those ratings.
Bigger and stronger has little to do with safety, unless you have a horrible mismatch, when compared to the decisions folks make behind the wheel.
