I repeat "Bigger and stronger does not mean safer". Safer, is the decision to drive in a way that in general; means driving slower, braking sooner, allowing more time for accelerating and and stopping.

Every travel trailer wreck I have personally seen locally have all been with the free floating axles of 3/4 ton and larger pickups.I have seen none with 1/2 ton trucks pulling a travel trailer.
I have been on the road in my 18 wheelers and saw a lot..Speed pulling a trailer/fifth wheel is the number one reason of all the wrecks I have seen.
I never tow over 65 mph keeping it at 60 99% of the time.One blow out in over 50 years of pulling trailers of some sort and that was my fault for ignoring that tire.
