I did a quick survey in this RV park and eighty percent of the tow vehicles have full floater rear axles. These are experienced RVers, not RV or automotive salespeople.
There is something to be said for those that seldom tow and stay local. "Adequate" may serve them well. As a full timer, I want all the comfort, safety, and performance that I can get without going crazy. Current pickup has a 2,300 pound payload rating and I am using half that, for instance.
