There is something to be said for those that seldom tow and stay local. "Adequate" may serve them well. As a full timer, I want all the comfort, safety, and performance that I can get without going crazy. Current pickup has a 2,300 pound payload rating and I am using half that, for instance.
2300 pounds..Many modern 1/2 tons have that plus some.The difference between weight of my old F-150 and my sons HD 2500 was like 300 pounds..Humm..But it wasn't aluminum.lol
I am contemplating full timing it again..Full time RVing is completely different than just camping and the needs in a truck are quite different also.I have a pair of free floaters in the driveway right now attached to four tires with a payload of 4600 pounds.I will buy an RV accordingly, if I take the step again....
