The chevy add for the 1500 6.2 420/460 engine has the NHT package which has a 7600 gvwr and 4300 rwar 2000 lb payloads and is a step up from your '15 std duty truck.
Trailer tow rating cover all types of trailers not just a rv trailer. Example is my 10k car hauler with a 7240 lb blue tractor/FEL/box blade. I can load for any hitch weight for any of my other trucks:..... my 2500 Dodge/Cummins.....my '98 3500 drw 4x4 crew cab chevy 454.....or the wifes 2016 1500 chevy 5.3 355hp/383 torque 4x4 crew cab with a 1760 lb payload and a 9600 lb tow rating. Nothing overweight about it.
I'm comfortable towing at max with these new gen 1/2 or 3/4 ton or one ton high hp trucks unlike older LDT's with whoppin' 200-230 hp and 300-325 torque engines and low gvwr/rawr numbers..
