Probably not. It's smaller and thus is working harder. I see Ford is having issues with head gaskets on their turbocharged small engines. Something about cylinder head flex. Don't matter to me either. I'm not buying one. I have a V8 Diesel truck thats just fine for my use and it's not stressed at all.

I wouldn't....I would like those same performance numbers but with 100% duty cycle like my current big block. I'm not saying give me the current 5.4L, I'm saying give me a V-10 or diesel option....

It's really an academic discussion anyways since I am not going to drop $70k on a new truck.

I had a 2015 F150 with the 3.5 EcoBoost. Very powerful and torquey. Amazing what they can do.

There is no advantage to a V8 anymore. None.

That little Eco-Boost sure is amazing. 90% of the torque of the 8.1L vortec, and right at 85% of the torque of the old 7.3 powerstroke. Given the choice, not sure which I would pick, but the new Expedition sure is tempting (if you can ignore the price).

To be honest, the 10 speed isn't necessary to keep the EcoBoost in its powerband. The non-turbo motors in the F150 actually will benefit far more than the 3.5L EcoBoost. Even the defunct (in half-tons) 6.2L only made more torque above 4500.

My BIL was on the design team for the 10 speed. You need a lot of ratio's to keep that weenie motor churning along.

Seems as though the old adage 'no replacement for displacement' is going by the wayside

I was surprised that the 3.5 EcoBoost V6 was the only powertrain option...call me old school, but for that kind of coin I want a V8. The onky transmission option is a 10-speed auto, I'll bet that works great in keeping the little V6 in its powerband.

Guy down the road has the Lincoln version. The entire front end, grill, headlight bezels and everything else is injection molded plastic. I bet a light tap by even a bird would cost a thousand bucks to repair and I agree, it looks fugly.

Ya think LOL?......................A little bump to the front of my 2015 GMC without getting the frame, hood, or grille but nailing the bumper, fender, etc came in at a tad under $10K. The headlight assembly alone was close to a grand.

Nice thing about my old pickup.. I can buy a new Grill complete with headlight bezels on flea-bay for 50 bucks (that is an Ford part not aftermarket) and headlight assemblies for 75 a pop. A new bumper is 150. Cheap date, fine with me. Advantage to driving an antique (besides no emissions junk)...lol
