The grade braking feature in the Rubi with the auto is beyond fantastic, how would anyone not want the auto for offroad is beyond me. Love my 2014.
The grade braking feature in the auto is basically mimicking the first gear crawl control of the manuals. The very low first gear of the 6 speed combined with the 4.10 rear gears while control the Jeep very well at a slow and steady speed down hills.
If you want to want to go about 5 mph then put it in 4 hi in first gear and if you want to slowly crawl at just 1-2 mph then put it in 4 lo and first gear. Most people that drove my Jeep coming from an auto say that they didn't need to use the clutch as much as they thought they would.
As will most manuals, it makes for a more interactive driving experience for those who are looking for that kind of experience. Although I am not sure I would recommend the manual in the non Rubicon versions without the 4.10 gears.
