2019 Chevy 2500 HD gas

Ordered a new 2018 gas 2500 HD Chevy aalmost 2 months ago. I was a told it was supposed to be ready this week. Now I found out they won’t build it until 6/16 and it will be a 2019 instead of 2018. Don’t even get me started on the conversation I had with the dealer about I’m not paying anymore and I also just lost the $2500 rebate on the 18’s. That talk wouldn’t make with through the moderators.lol Anyhow I cant even find any info about the 19’s. Anybody have any thoughts?
  • Well I have now spoken to everyone including the owner of the dealership. GM cooperate actually called them to find out what was going on, So far it looks like they will honor the price negotiated originally. But the original contract said that price minus any incentives given at the time of pick up. Which I thought was great because when I ordered ther were no rebates yet. So I think they are not going to go for the rebate since the rebate is for a 2018 not a 20019.

Every incentive or rebate offer I have ever seen from any of the big 3 is clearly listed in the fine print as available on "in dealer stock units only". The 2500 and up GM's almost never have a rebate or incentive regardless.

Every time I have ordered a vehicle I had a sales order printed and signed by both parties which listed all the numbers. That's a contract. If you have one that's lists the $2500 rebate then the dealer should honor it the model year or terms of the rebate notwithstanding, his loss. If the dealer does not honor it you probably don't want to do business with said dealer anyway. If you do not have a written agreement then good luck. Nothing you can do about it. Are you going to hire a litigator and go after a deep pocketed dealer? Good luck also with that.

When you say you "Ordered a new 2018 gas 2500 HD Chevy" was a sales order written with all the options you wanted and deposit paid for the truck?

If the dealer is worth dealing with then there should have been the need to have a discussion, let alone a heated discussion, about how this should be made right. The truck with all the same options at the rebate price. End of story or I walk with any deposit refunded in full.
  • Only 2 changes for 2019 - new Black Metallic, and grill is chrome with chrome mesh on WT and LT for 2019.

Your dealer must have ordered your truck as part of his allocation, and not a sold order.

Unless you negotiated a price, the rebate from GM is applicable at the time of delivery.

Did you put a deposit on the order? If so, they need to honor the $2500. If not, walk away and find another truck on a dealer lot that meets your needs and will give you the rebate.

That dealer did you NO favors so you have nothing to do for them either.

  • I'm pretty sure the '19 are going to be an exact carry over of the '18 since this will be the last year of the current platform.

Just keep in mind that the '20 will most likely be the all new truck platform and there should be some incentives to clear old style truck inventory.
