you do know that the f450 have less payload capacity than a f350.
On paper, but look at the tires, brakes and rear axle and the F450 is a much more capable truck, also is available with wide track front axle which yields a much shorter turning radius.
Ask anyone who has used both an F350 and an F450 pickup (not a cab and chassis F450) to haul a big truck camper that puts the truck over the GVWR which one did a better job. A handful on this forum have, and I doubt any of them would go back to the F350. I know I won’t. That’s not to say the F350 isn’t capable of hauling a big heavy load. Obviously they are, and many are doing it happily every day. They would be even happier with an F450 pickup, without a doubt.
In my opinion, the F350’s payload rating is at the upper end of its capabilities. The F450’s payload rating up until the 2016’s is at worst in the middle of its envelope. It was intentionally understated in order to keep it in the class 3 light truck segment.
