Otherwise how could you have a swing of 1300-1500lbs gvwr for the same chassis and designation. and how does the gvwr go up with the weight of the truck, in the same class?

I just looked at the payload sticker on my new 2020 Silverado dually. 5200#, about 500# less than my 2011. I also spent some time under it today. The components are truely massive. The driveshaft has a larger diameter than the streetlight in front of my house. The rear end looks like it should be in a school bus
I don't think I'm gonna worry too much if I end up a little over the "number"
