2500 Ram payload

I am buying a Ram Outdoorsman crew cab with the 6.4 Hemi and 4.10 axle. The Ram website states the payload is 2926. Does anyone know if this payload is true? I worry there is some small print or something I might be missing.

Thanks
  • When I bought my Ford I had the dealer put in the agreement that it had to XXXX number of payload or I could refuse the truck and get my deposit back. The web site and the dealer told me it would over 4150 and he put 3750 in the contract and came in at 3744 and I made him sweat and give some free accessories. LOL
  • It should be around that, gas 3/4 tons usually will have higher payload then their diesel version. My truck has 2997 lbs payload where as the same truck with the diesel is around 2500 on my buddies 09. Due to the heaviness of the engine is the reason. And like others said the door jamb is the most accurate guid to go by.

Check your door sticker to see what the payload is for your specific truck, but that number is entirely possible. My 2014 Ram 2500 Tradesman has a payload of 3066.

Exactly this... the number on the website is an estimate. The number on the placard will be EXACT. It should be reasonably close though.
  • I have a 2015 Ram 2500 with the 6.4 and 3.73 gears. Sticker on door pillar says 2999 lbs, GVWR is 10,000 with the 6.4 With the 5.7 it is 9,000 lbs per ram brochure. so the GVWR will be less with the 5.7

  • Sounds about right. It fluctuates based on the trim package you get. I have the 5.7L Hemi and 3.73 gear and have 2,500 lbs payload Tradesman 4x4.
