If you are pitched at an angle in a situation as say snow with a load like a TC of this weight....the front end is useless
Exactly..Weight can be your friend or it can be your big time enemy..So many times I have had to put atleast 1 chain on front tire just to make a corner..With a bunch of weight on the rear,it makes the front end lite and hard to steer or get traction..
Also weight is your friend going up hill but then it is you enemy big time, coming back down with all the weight pushing you.I have slid out of control going down hill to many times..Even had my trailer trying to pass me..LOL..Speeding up is the only option as braking is a disaster..
Lockers on the front make it hard to steer also..I have a Yamaha Rhino with lockers aka all 4 tires engage..A truck is no different..
So what it boils down to is,yes 4WD does help over a 2WD but by how much, all being equal and not out looking for trouble?..Then again it depends on the driver/tires and there ability and especially, did I really need to go where I went just because I have a 4WD..LOL
