I’m quite certain that Ram/Cummins is the best selling diesel truck in Canada; I can’t recall where I’ve read that but it’s been more than once.
As for Alberta, I sure have seen a lot of new Cummins trucks around the Edmonton area every time I’ve been there......:B
It took 8 years for Cummins to go from 2000000 engines for Ram to 3000000. I've read that in 2006 production of the Duramax was limited to 200000 units. Ford manufactured 500000 6.7 Powerstrokes in their first 3 years of production. Because so many fewer Cummins engines are being produced vs the other guys I really find it hard to believe Canada is selling more 6.7 Cummins than either of the other two.
I don’t think your numbers are right. For the last several years, RAM has outsold Chevy (and I think GM in general) in the 2500/3500 market.
I did a little Googling and discovered I was wrong on my numbers.
It turns out Cummins manufactured the 2,000,000th engine for Ram less than 7 years ago on Dec 10th 2012 link
Wikipedia is where I read about the 200,000 Duramaxes per year.
Here is where you can read about the 500,000th 6.7 Powerstroke being installed around September 25th 2013 .... I guess it was likely not much over 2 years of production.
Edit: should be 3 years not 2.
