I was in the marine business for many years and shared a shop with a now retired ac and refrigeration fellow. He was an isotherm dealer. While I am sure it happens I never saw a problem with an isotherm unit. I put two units on my boat, one with a danfoss 35 and the other with a danfoss 50,separate boxes. Both performed flawlessly and cooled rather quickly. They will handle whatever road you throw at them, I was in some very rough weather and never had an issue. I have strongly considered if and when my three way fails going to 12 volt. Having said all that I agree with whizbang about boondocking. I carry 2 group 27 batteries and 200 watts solar in my tc. In a hot climate that is not enough to survive without running my genset. The t 105s are great batteries but my opinion you would be pushing it. I am not a fan of propane reefers but they serve a purpose. By the way as I think someone else alluded to, they are really 2 way because the 12 volt is useless unless you are driving and charging. Btw in my case my unit drew more than listed.
