I have a dual compartment Whynter fridge/freezer. It's portable and similar to ARB, Engel and a bunch of others with a danfoss compressor. No temp swings, you can set each compartment to its own temp so you can have them both as fridges, one of each, or both as freezers. It will last 3-4 days on dual 6v batteries. But after that you need to have a way to charge them up or you'll be wishing you had a propane fridge (I don't have a generator or solar panels and not sure I ever will). Everything has a trade off. So I have both and use the one that suits the situation. It's also nice to be able to take the portable fridge in any car, or any place. I've even used it at home in an emergency, and on the back deck for bbqs.
