I still use my surge protector with A 2' RUGGED built adapter that disperses heat rather well, I purchased online. So far, so good. A safety concern would be the longer the cord , there is more voltage drop. ( quick example, at 30 amps, 10 awg copper, 50' cord, 96.1 volts on load end.) Your a/c will struggle to run properly.
