30 amp Marineco Connections

I really like the fully detachable cord too, for the reasons mentioned.

I stuffed that cord into that little hole over and over, for 10 years, muttering "this can't be the best way to do this" every time.

Sometimes I muttered worse.

I like the idea of a 90 degree angle, but more connections=more problems in my experience.

So far (1 week), I' m not using the screw-on locking collar. Just plugging in.

So far so good.

Not sure if mine is Marinco. It is Lance 2013 OE.

Thanks for the idea for the 90 degree adapter. I just ordered one off Amazon.

There is other brands that are not made here.

Have the same problem with the Marinco cable. The spring style clips in the female plug that are supposed to pinch tight on the built in male plug of the camper Suck! I was losing power and finally pulled the plug apart. Seems like the brass clips are too soft to make good contact. Chinese revenge I guess. These are built with a screw collar on the plug, so it's not like the cord is hanging and bending the contacts. Just Chinese junk! They aren't cheap to replace either. Gotta find a good solution.

Marinco has been making detachable cords for RVs for some time.
The locking ring gets broken quite often.

The actual electrical connector part is an industry standard 30 amp 120 VAC connector. That connection is actually made before the outer screw on part is tightened down.

My new AF 990 has that and I like it better than the hardwired cords. Its easier to deal with in cold weather than trying to stuff a really stiff cable back into that hole on the side of the camper. Try doing that when the temperature is 4 degrees.:(

My question is how did it break? If you accidently drove off with it plugged in both portions may have been damaged. Been there done that myself. You may want to check the one mounted on the TC also.

When you say female end, that means the cord end not the receptacle on your camper. Which is it? The cord should have a collar that engages the receptacle. Hope this helps.
