Seems that someone has walked off with our 30AMP twist lock power cord for our Travel Trailer. They took that along with some other wire on the side of our house. I see Walmart has the black RV cord for 89.99 but they also have a Marine version (yellow cord) for 20. cheaper. Everything else seems the same on the package.Is there a difference between RV (black) versus the Marine (Yellow) 30 Amp twist lock power cord?

Look at the NEMA number on the cord. The rig should have it inside the receptacle. I have not seen any twist lock cords at my Walmart. They have different 30 amp standard extension cords.You could verify configuration on the the Marinco website. I beleive the 30 amp are the same.Marinco

Then I would look at the strands. the more strands it has the more flexible it will be, and I would get the one with the most strands. If they are both equal, I would get the marine grade one.Just me and others might differ.Jack L

Check the connectors on the end of the cord. A RV cord will have a Twist Loc connector on one end and a RV plug on the other. A marine cord will have a Twist Loc on each end. They must be running a special as I have never seen anything marine cheaper than RV.

My marine yellow cord has twist lock on one end & standard 30 amp plug on the other end. You can also buy an adapter for the twist lock end that converts it back to 30 amp standard female. Since I sold the TT I can use that Marinco cord to extend to the outlet if necessary.

That would be my suggestion as well. Make sure the CABLE ENDS on the two units for sale are exactly alike AND will fit your trailer connection. I suspect this is what the difference is going to be. I would also purchase the heaviest and largest cable size they have. Your best bet would to go to real RV PARTS store. The parts store where I got my RV Trailer was very well stocked and those folks knows exactly what you need...I would imagine WALMART would allow you to try it out if you took the trailer to the WALMART store, especially if they have the auto shop. They have been pretty good at this for some of my purchase items. I always check with AMAZON as the best place to buy these things. They are usually the cheapest and has free shipping. Usually a two day delivery for me.Roy Ken
