Very few with slideouts have been built in Europe. The this is the Tabbert Cellini.
Weighs 6,000lb GCVWR has a 900lb Payload.
900 lbs is awfully light, though I suppose most camping in Europe is in serviced campgrounds so you're not carrying water and whatnot. Not my cup of tea but with the density of people in Europe, or at least western Europe, I suppose that's what's available. - RobertRyanExplorer

And that is my point, I suspect we'll see them using trucks like that, rather than small sedans they have been using for their tiny and lightweight TT's.
Now then, if we could just get Nissan to bring that 3.0 V6 TD here to the US market. With the six speed manual. I'd be at the dealer tomorrow if they would.
Europe is the land of the Van and it's Cab Chassis alternatives, like the IVECO Daily
Towing a 36 ft 5 ver
A Mazda Diesel Pickup, rare in Europe but used here a lot with a 29ft long 5ver
Ford Transit Cab Chassis Truck Camper towing tiny boat
An IVECO Cab Chassis 4x4 towing a 28ft " Australianized" US Caravan, Smallish US Company has done a lot to try and make it's products acceptable here
Cab Chassis variant of Van towing cars - RobertRyanExplorer

Those Diesel Pickups are now 9/10ths the size of a F150. European Cab Chassis Vans / Vans are pretty big.
One reason people here like a Dually to tow is it's compact size compared to the alternatives.I will qualify that by saying very few Dually's or US Pickups are sold here.
When they were made here up to 1980 and then Ford tried again in 2003 selling Brazilian F250/350's, they could not support a business case. - RobertRyanExplorer

The sleek, functional compact design of the interior puts to shame the "Jungle Room" Shag carpet school of design that seems to prevail in the US. Most very expensive Class A's look more like a cheap Las Vegas CatHouse than something one would actually want to live in.
But this kind of design doesnt come cheaply. But Good heavens what a breath of fresh air it would be to see this kind of interior in an American trailer!
One reason US RV's are not popular here - RobertRyanExplorer

Ans so a new era begins for Euro RV buyers. Once a few of them get the taste of having the added room and functionality of trailers with slide rooms, the market will shift that way, just as it has in the USA. Which will finally put to bed this idea that you can effectively and safely tow a big 'ol trailer with a passenger sedan. You will see these buyers moving to pickup trucks, just like we in the US have, many years ago. Pickup trucks rule for this type of work.

Not Pickup Trucks. This can easily be towed by a Van or a Diesel SUV. Diesel SUV problematic as you have the " crank effect" with the length - gmw_photosExplorer

No flame here...sorry to disapoint.
But I think you are misreading and misunderstanding the European market and their manufacturing as well as what they do with small diesels in medium sized vehicles.
You may remember that it was Citroen in 1934, yes 1934 that gave the automotive world the first monocoque body, front wheel drive car. It was the Europeans that gave US disc brakes and radial tires.
They already have medium sized (read small for the US) truck chassis with plenty of power from small 4 and 6 cyl diesels that can pull just about anything.
They will not need to resort to the kind of behomoth trucks we have.
I agree with you they will use the mid size "trucks" they have. For instance the Navarra ( Frontier to us ) they have, comes with a 3.0L turbo diesel with over 400 ft-bs torque.
And that is my point, I suspect we'll see them using trucks like that, rather than small sedans they have been using for their tiny and lightweight TT's.
