3/4 Ton Pickup shocks

I pull a 9,000lb travel trailer. I also have a 60 gallon fuel tank in the truck bed. I just got back from a 1500 mile trip and we were on turnpike most of the way. A lot of the time we had a awful bounce. I have a 2010 2500HD dsl. Any ideas on shocks or air bags?

  • Bilstien's, I have had Rancho's, Monroes and Edelbrocks and the Bilstien's are better in all conditions.

Forget the model number burt they are the blue and yellow ones.

  • Check your weight distribution hitch setup and also make sure your have the trailer loaded so that 10-15% of the weight is on the hitch. I had the same problem with my last trailer and both the hitch and the loading resolved the bouncing.

  • Your truck suspension should be stout enough for that trailer weight. I have had air bags before, and for many reasons will never use them again. I use Timbrens now and I am very happy with those. I have KYB Shocks on my truck and I noticed a big difference from the OE. Just my thoughts if you go and change things.
