I realize there has been many questions asked about this and I have read quite a few but still doesn't really answer my curiosity completely, so here it goes... Say if I need to use the truck 60-70...

You're confusing gvwr and gcvw. GVW is the wieght of the truck with the load, cargo, pin weight etc. all in.
Gcvw includes the weight of the trailer as well and is way more than 10k for any HD pickup.
