5.7L Hemi trip report

Just got back from our first trip with my new to me truck. It's a high miler, a 2007 Dodge Ram 1500 4x4 with a 5.7L Hemi and 3.55s.

I used my Torque App on my Android phone to monitor things as I drove. It was about 83*F, so I ran the A/C the whole time. Speed limit is 110 Km/h on the divided highway we were on, I think that's about ~68 mph, and I was probably about 70 mph for about 4 hours straight. Here is the numbers.

Average mpg was 9.5 ended at 9.6 mpg
Engine load (ABS LOAD gauge = absolute engine load) was between 50 and 85%
Trans Temp was 150*F to a peak of 195*F while idling for a couple minutes with the A/C on. While traveling down the road it was about 165*F.
Engine coolant temp was 205 to 210* the whole way, it didn't vary much.
Trans was in Tow/Haul mode all day and stayed in 4th @ 2600 RPM (I think) and the odd time when there was no wind, it dropped to 5th @ 1900 RPM. Small grades/rolling hills would see a downshift and about 3000 RPM.

Overall, I'm very pleased with how the truck performed, and the Torque App.

Faggedaboudit. I just had to finish reading the post.

I had to download an extra PID to get the Trans Temp feature to work.
I had been shopping for Transmission temperature gauges, glad a little time spent on google saved me all the cash and time installing a mechanical one.
