53k list price on a Ram what should I pay?

My question is if buying cash how much off of list should I expect. List is 53k on a 2016 3500 SRW Long Box crew cab, big horn package. They say they have 3000 off incentive. I believe they will go a lot lower than that but there doesn't seem to be a lot of these around. I am guessing their cash price could come down to about $46500. Curious if any of you have had any dealings on this or general opinions on what I should look for in price.

Also looking for opinions on the hemi 6.4 engine and the truck in general.
I did drive one of these trucks the other day and I can say I did like it and it seemed to have tons of power for a gasser.

I may do nothing as I do love the truck in my signature but all this fuel pump talk gives me the jitters. I will be out of warranty in about 8 months all though I only have 35k on the rig.

    Paying cash won't make much difference like it did in the old days. Today dealers make more off finance kick backs.

    My sticker had $2500 worth of "dealer options" that were no more than running boards, slush mats, spray-in and front window tint. I had them itemize the list and I remember the spray-in alone was $950.
    Long story short, when I told them they were crazy his actual response was "that's what people pay everyday"!!
    Then the list magically went down to $1200 some how.

    They had the Ram rubber slush mats priced $100 higher than Rams accessory website! :R

    I went to the library and they have a book that shows what the dealers pay for the vehicle and what each option costs. Then look at the sticker on the window and start deducting..meaning the sticker showed for example 'Air Conditioning....900.00' but they pay 500.00 and so on. Thats how I arrived at my price plus a little more for the dealer. I know they also have holdback money etc..but its a good starting point.

    X2 here great info on how the system works now with the Internet. Companies have raised the invoice price over the last 15 yrs. The real $$ is made by kickbacks to dealers selling volume.

    Discounts on RAMs vary across market regions based on factory incentives. Typically, 17 to 20 percent off of MSRP is the best you can do without employee pricing (25 to 29 percent) of some extraordinary discount like I fell in to. An extra $1,000 incentive because I owned Bobcat equipment and another $500 coupon that Chrysler gave me (it was under my name in the dealer's computer). With those two extra incentives, I was just over 18% off of MSRP.

    MSRP was $70,000.00, cost was $57,051 plus tax, title, registration.

    This is the BEST discount I have ever seen. Fully loaded LongHorn with rear air ride, OEM bed cover and RAM/Curt 25K 5er hitch for 56K, list was around 74K. My inlaw bought it new in Phoenix, I guess someone special ordered it then did not take it.

    This I agree with - I find $9-$10k off sticker is quite common but these people that tell you they got $14k off sticker may be stretching the truth..

    For every person who gets $12-14k off a new diesel, there are 10 who paid much closer to sticker.
    Buncha factors go into whether you can get that screaming deal or not. I'm like most of you here and wouldn't even consider buying new unless I got a "deal."
    But realize your going to have to work for the deal. Either flying X country or lots of haggling, or not the favorite color and options, etc. (unless uou live next door to Dave Smith, lol).
    Just prepare to be disappointed and idk if cash gets you the best out he door price as the mfgs consider interest on a car loan profit too.

    2 dealers invoice minus any rebates
    3 HB. HOW much did you get of the hold back
    Should got 75% of it . If not you left it on the table

    Same with me. Exact truck and 14k off from list. Had to fly to east coast from michigan. Pain but worth it.
