I have the same EVIC system and there's no magic algorithm on my truck that gives it 0.1 accuracy. My EVIC on my nearly 9000lb DRW CTD easily shows 22-24 mpg average HWY and I'll tell you those #'s are just silly. Just coasting HWY "instantaneous" shoots it to 99 mpgs and its easy to skew the overall reported average. Real hand calculated HWY mpgs are 18 mpg, not 22-24. Not slamming the 6.4 gasser on mpgs, just the EVIC and it's accuracy :B

It shows 99mpg because it cuts fuel to ZERO. And most EVIC readout, GM HD trucks excluded, are more accurate than most people are at math.

I've put 6000 miles on my 2014 ram 2500 4x4 crew cab with the 6.4 hemi. I'm getting 15.5 mpg on country roads and 17 mpg on trips.

I have no doubt that you're getting the mileage you report. I got 17~ hand calculated with my '05 Hemi powered 2500HD Ram empty highway. The DIC was within .5mpg consistently.

For the doubters, here's a quick 2 min video of empty hwy mpg. I set the display to US units, but the speedo is still in Km/h. I set the cruise at 98 Km/h (60 mph). Note that just after the video starts, I go down a slight little hill, and the instant mpg climbs to 20 - 23 mpg, and I put that in the video description so no one thinks I am trying to represent that as typical. It then settles in the more typical range of 17 - 18 mpg. You can see in the video that the hwy is flat when the camera pans up to record the view out the windshield.

I have a 13 RAM 2500 with 3.73 and NO MDS (only 5.7 though), I get max 8 mpg towing a 7k trailer and 11-12.5 max without.

Should have waited for a 2014 if the numbers are that much better.

I am trying to put some kms on the truck for our first camping trip so I asked the dealership to take it for a ride today. I went 230 km on a engine with 57 km on it. I averaged 15.2 km per 100l of gas.

Ib516 will probably know how to convert that to mpg.

But very happy with the mpg on a brand new engine. It might beat what I was getting on my 1500
