That is true when you you compare F250 as evidently "weekend warriors" prefer engines easier to operate.
But when it comes to F350- Friendly Ford in Las Vegas has 5 of 8 with diesels. LINK
when Ford in Henderson has all 3 of F350 with diesels only.
Good luck finding dually with gas engine.
I sold my diesel dually after 3.5 years for 73% what I paid for it. That was wholesale price as I did not want wait for private buyer.

But the OP also already has a basically new diesel and is merely fretting the impending problems that the internet has caused him to be concerned with.

Regarding stock of vehicles, of course this year is weird (understatement) but just because your local _______ dealer doesn’t have much or doesn’t have what you want, just look elsewhere.
Plane tickets are cheap, dang near free right now to some places.
There’s no sense in limiting ones self to local dealers if what ya want is somewhere else and you need a vehicle and don’t want to wait to order it.

When all you're doing is hauling a TC, the engine doesn't make much difference. All the engine offerings from the big three are plenty powerful. If 410 horsepower isn't enough to move even the biggest TC up and down any hill as fast as you want, I give up.

GM's 6.6L puts out 401HP
Ford's 7.3L beats both at 430HP

I've been looking at 2500/3500 SRW from all the big 3 to pull my TT. There are not many out there, and they are not at good prices, especially the Ford 7.3. Seems like you have a good truck, I'd wait 6-12 months and see if prices go down.

The 8speed is the same regardless of SRW or DRW. MPG difference will be 2-4 mpg less than a diesel, .5-1 mpg less SRW vs DRW. We have a 2015 3500 SRW and get 12-14 empty and 8-10 with camper and we don’t baby the truck. Average last 2, 5000 mile trips with camper was 9.4mpg. If all you do is haul a camper and occasionally tow something, there is no way you can make a diesel pencil itself out money wise. We have been looking for a dually and have found several with the diesel we like, but at the end of the day we don’t want the additional costs associated with the diesel, no matter how cool they are or how effortlessly they haul/tow. As has been stated, if you already own a diesel and it hasn’t got a 100000 miles on it, and is giving you no troubles keep it. On the other hand, if you just want to get a new truck, I wouldn’t hesitate to buy a 6.4 Ram or a new 7.3 powered Ford. Good Luck.

FWIW; When I was truck shopping this spring i drove the 6.4 with 8 speed tranny 1 ton. Sweet ride and more than enough juice to haul a TC.

I went back to gas after 14 years of diesel. DEF/DPR/re-gens...i am all set with diesel.

Go drive one. It’ll put a smile on your face.
