6.7 cummins oil/fuel filter where to buy

So, time for another oil change, and fuel filter change. Is there somewhere to buy the filters without going back to the dealer? I'm looking for the same quality, but would like to save a few bucks.

Thx

I figured out what filter I needed and then went to Amazon. Prices were very competitive with the dealer and the delivery was timely. If you have Prime, delivery is usually in two days and free.

Amazon has both fuel filters for $100+/- with free Prime shipping. That is about the best price you can get.

Our dealer charges about $70 for synthetic oil changes with filter on my Ram. That is only slightly more than it would cost me to do it myself. I'm allowing myself to get lazy and let the dealer do it twice a year... saves me the trouble of getting dirty and having to recycle 3 gallons of oil!

I have plenty of other vehicles where I can save money on oil changes!
  • I go to Amazon with everything shipped to my door including the oil and get the Ram 6.7 OEM fuel filter/separator kit, Fleetguard LF16035 oil filter and Rotella T6.
  • If you have an Amazon Prime membership, setup a scheduled delivery of Rotella T6. We get it at or under $19 per gallon, 1 every two months (we hit 15,000 miles once a year right now, so changes for us are every 6 months).

Oil Filter - Amazon. FleetGuard LF16035 preferred, or MO285.

Fuel Filters - Amazon or e-Bay. There are a number of Dodge dealers that list the set of two Mopar filters for prices at or under $100 including shipping. My last set was somewhere around $75. If you check CumminsForum.com, folks post there when they find a deal.
  • I've been using PTC fuel filters:
    PGF401 Fuel water separator
    PGF410 Fuel filter

    And for the oil:
    Baldwin BT7349

You'll be amazed how much money can be saved over the factory fuel filters from a dealer. PTC is an OEM supplier based in Ohio. 3 sets of two filters is $130 on Amazon. That's $43 for a filter change.

I use either 15-40 Rotella or Chevron Delo 400 (when Costco has the 3-gallon pack on sale).

Shell Rotella T6 5W40 can be purchased for about $22/gallon or less.

FleetGuard LF16035 is a very good filter. Geno's, Amazon, or many other online locations.

The only fuel filters I've found are OEM. Starting in '14 (maybe '13?) RAM went to the 2 filter system with the self contained in the rear and cartridge style at the engine. I found them in a packaged deal on Amazon.com for $102. The dealer wanted $85/each for the fuel filters.

Another nifty deal I bought was a Lisle Part# 14600, 29mm Fuel Filter Socket . The top of that cartridge filter can be a real pain and this shallow socket makes it a lot easier to remove and replace.

  • I order mine from Geno's diesel supply online.
