6.7 Powerstroke 1 year later

I have owned a 2014 Ford F350... bought new, for a year now with a 6.7 Powerstroke Crew Cab 4x4 long box. I have had o problems with it.

Drove it to Wyoming then to Western NY back to Kansas and then drove it to So. Cal and back pulling my TT plus all the local driving I do with it. I have owned a couple new 7.3's and thought they would never build a truck better than those trucks but I am here to tell you they did !!

It gets 18 highway alone and 12 mpg pulling the TT on a calm day now if the wind is blowing head on at 30 mph fuel mileage goes down. Pulling a trailer I have to put DEF in about every 1000 miles , not empty just tells me it's below half full so I fill it... 1 1/2 to 2 gallons. Empty I go months without adding any DEF. Truck has more power than any pickup I have ever owned and I have owned diesel pickups since 1992. I would buy this truck again in a heart beat !! I don't care what kind of truck anyone owns !! I don't care if you love Fords or hate them . What I am saying is ...What a great truck this has been so far.

You have less than 20 thousand miles on your truck!!!! It's a brand new freaking truck!!! I would hope you have had 0 problems with your engine/truck up to this point!! :?

My truck has 90 thousand miles on it right now and I have no idea if it is a good engine/truck. Talk to me at the 200K mark and I will give you my opinion then. :)

90 thousand miles? You still have more miles left in your truck than a brand new gasoline powered truck. Your engine's barely broken in.

My 12 year old F250 Lariat crew cab now has 120K miles, and it's still a beautiful truck. And it's quite a performer with an 80 hp ECU enhancement.

Your all light weights about 500 miles from rolling 280,000 miles and still pulling strong!

I have a 2011 Powerstroke with 74000 miles. I noticed the wastefate on the turbo acting up the second day I drove it. Warranty fixed that and I have done nothing but change tires, oil and filters the odd time. When I bought it I expected to be replacing it by now but I have zero desire for a new truck....that is zero desire for a new little truck.

This would take you out of the little truck category. :B

  • You don't have to wait until your death bed and 500k miles to reflect back and realize you were happy with your vehicle. If it is trouble free enjoy it regardless of the mileage. Why purchase a new vehicle. Just go out and purchase a used one with 500k miles because you know it "was" a good truck. :)

  • Awesome! Glad it is working out. The only 6.7 problems I have heard of is the fuel pump not liking low quality fuel or contaminants and Ford denying warranty sometimes. That has quieted down so suspect US fuel quality has improved or the pumps have changed...

Nice 4500... Hopefully RAM removed those fish gills on the '15 model hood?

The best thing Ford ever did for their diesel trucks was to drop Navistar and build it themselves.

Plus they also build their own transmission.
So its all on them if there is issues. :S

Seems like their doing just fine by doing it all in house instead of buying power train and installing other guys stuff. :W

    Thanks Fish!

Yes still have them. Never thought of them as "Fish" Gills.

It's a 3500 the same one that Ford compares the F450 to. :B
