So whats the problem with his question? Yes comparison questions on trucks and RV's are on here a lot, but how else can one make a decision if you don't ask. Searches don't always pull up the exact comparison you might have. I'm sure there are some defects to each of the engines that are known. What are they. It's a good question. Or don't any of you that have them know either. ALL engines have known problems with them somewhere. I know what they are on mine. That's why I keep the dang thing. Why trade it for something I know nothing about.
I personally would go with the 1 ton because that's what I need to pull my fithwheel. Load wise their capabilities are different and will handle and ride differently. I have an older Dodge, and yes it had a block casting defect I didn't know about which in the end cost me $5000.00 to fix. Would I have bought it if I knew it. Probably not. Wish I had asked the question back then. It also has a poorly designed fuel pump. Put a fuel pressure light on so I don't starve the injector pump when it goes bad.
It sure seems easy to press the L and O keys on here when somebody posts a question.
You actually have a good point; the OP did nothing wrong by asking, it's just that those of us who hang out here often know that for every one good/honest/helpful reply, they'll be six or eight that are skewed towards what the responder owns, complete with insults of the other choice and rampant justification.
