I have a 2001 7.3 F-250. A few years ago I couldn't start. Turned over like a champ. Folks on the Ford diesel site told me it was a battery problem. I was sure they were wrong and checked every other possibility. I then had the batteries checked and they were weak. Two new ones and it started like a champ. FWIW
