Yes, this is a rip off that should be banned. But, there are 2 different types of 7 pin connectors. Almost everyone, and their dog, uses the one style (sorry I don't remember what style that is) But, once in a awhile you get ripped off and end up buying the wrong style. It's confusing and is sucks. It gets worse and there are types that will plug into either style. I didn't know this until I found out the hard way just like you did.
