I have a 2004 chevy 2500 hd duramax allisonThe 7 pin plug does not transfer 12volt to the trailer plug (both the rear or the in box plugs are the same) is their a fusible that has to be added some were I have not found any thing in the truck manual maybe you have the answer?Gaetan

Are you saying that all the pins are dead or just the power pin?

There is a fuse in the fuse box under the hood. When it comes from the factory, there is a blank fuse that you must replace with a 30 amp fuse. They send it with the blank in case you are not going to use it. I believe this is in fuse position number one on your truck. So, probably one of two things. If this is the first time you've tried to tow with this truck, then the blank fuse needs to be changed with a live one. Or, if it worked before, this fuse is probably blown. Other than that, we'll need more details to help you trouble shoot.

GM has two different ways of powering up the 12 volts.Stud 1 or two needs to have wire terminated. Look in your owner's manual to see which on your vehicle.Others require the installation of a thrity amp Maxi-fuse in the under the hood fuse panel located on the driver's side wheel well.

On my '05 and '07 Chevy's I had to not only connect the wire that was hidden under the under-hood fuse box, I also had to install the fuse. The wire hooks to one of the studs and will likely require the metric version of a 5/16 nut. An M10 I think.I don't understand why GM makes their truck owners complete the assembly of the vehicle. You'd think for the money a truck costs they could hook up one more wire.
