We just completed a So-Cal trip from Oak Harbor Wa, to Pioneer Ca. over Highway 88 (Carson Pass 8750') to Minden Nv. up 395 to 97 to Cashmere Wa. Over Stevens Pass to home 2059 miles of mountain roads on 263 gallons of Diesel, for a trip milage of 8.7 MPG.
We overnighted on I-5 at Yreka very nice camp grounds called waiiaka trailer haven.
on the way home we over nighted at Cresent OR on 97. then the run to home
I-5 in Or, is pretty beat up. 97 was a good 65MPH highway all the way. Yes there is some places that you can't run that fast. No snow or ice in the passes yet.
