I bought a diesel for tow capacity AND the fact that I'll still drive it when it has 200k miles on the engine.
Nothing untrue about what you said, but for a modern gasoline truck engine, 200k miles is nothing.
I remember when I was a kid, often motors were tired and wheezing at 75k miles and it was almost rare to see one untouched over 100k miles. Times have certainly changed for the better.
