The only folks offended by Supercharged's delightful nonsense are those who resent falling for it. I took the bait a few times but have learned to recognize (and appreciate) his style for what it is: Gentle satire on how seriously we all take ourselves.
And if anyone can point to a single thread he's started that is mean or truly inflammatory, I'll eat my hat, their hat, and the hat of the horse they rode in on!

I would think the sales should be over soon. I'm so gland I got a gas model again. I feel sorry the boys who just can't do the math and end up with the high cost of RVing. Then all those espenes parts and brake shoes. They say it will climb to over a $1oo higher soon.
I bought a diesel for tow capacity AND the fact that I'll still drive it when it has 200k miles on the engine.
Nothing untrue about what you said, but for a modern gasoline truck engine, 200k miles is nothing.
I remember when I was a kid, often motors were tired and wheezing at 75k miles and it was almost rare to see one untouched over 100k miles. Times have certainly changed for the better.
I remember back in the '60's...valve jobs were done on engines...not unusual back then.
Vehicles always had to have spring and winter tune ups...points and plugs, check the timing, adjust the carb. Modern day technology has done away with that stuff.
I recall carrying a screwdriver in the car...wasn't unusual to have to take the air cleaner off , stick the screw driver into the carb to jam open the 'butterfly' valve (as we called it)...to get a flooded engine to start....particularly in the winter.
Geez...am I happy to have fuel injection. :B - LessmoreExplorer III recall filling up in Grand Forks, North Dakota...around 1968....regular gas was going for 26 cents a gallon.
Good thing as my car back then was a '67 Camaro RS coupe, 327 V8, 4 speed....it was a thirsty beast.
Might of been because I drove with a lead foot, back then.... when I was a callow youth. :) - C_SchomerExplorerYou're mistaking me for someone who cares about your BS drivel.

75 cents? I think you are back living in the mid 1970s.
I recently found this receipt and was shocked. Certainly, not $0.75, but surprising none the less when you look at the date.
Was talking with a co-worker just this morning about the "good old days" when most people didn't even factor in fuel costs when constructing their monthly budget; now, between the 3 cars in the family, 2 of which are driven daily, I budget $500/mo for fuel*, making it my 2nd highest monthly bill and higher than either payment on the vehicles!
*that's just normal use; a few road trips & up that # goes :M - RedRocket204Explorer
