825 Lance

Looking at a 1999 825 Lance in good condition, are the NADA values reasonably accurate? I have a newer 5th wheel, want something for short, solo trips. I have never owned something that old, I am concerned that most of the components may have reached their useful life.

Asking price is $3,700.

I teakettled out the door and off the steps once, and have a scar across my knee cap to prove it.
  • If you have mobility problems going to a class B MH is a wise decision. NO RV is more demanding of its owner than a slide in camper or more limiting in terms of interior living space and storage.

With a class B there are options for slideouts which increase interior living space. With a new class B MH the manufacturer can make interior layout changes to accommodate your special needs.
  • I passed, it was a very nice camper, but it smelled to high heaven. It wii make someone a nice rig, but I am going new. And with my mobility problems perhaps a Class B.

    Thanks for the help.
  • Not seeing it it's difficult to tell. As to the components reaching their useful life... not necessarily so. Depends on the unit, how much use, and the care it has had. Many components last literally decades. My camper is a 1995, with a 2001 fridge, so sometimes things don't last long all... There are no guarantees with a camper this old, but I would not pass up on it for this reason. If it all works, there is no water damage and is solid the price is great! I paid $2,500 for my 1995 2 years ago and have put more than that into it for upgrades, but it was completely usable as it was.

  • I would say that is a good price. I looked at a 1999 850 last winter for $4500. It was quite nice with A/C and electric jacks.
