Interesting replies. I have been camping in tents and popups for nearly 40 years. I have camped in all kinds of environments form secluded to urban campgrounds. I have only had something stolen twice. Once in Torondo Canada the neighborhood kids took luncheon meat out of a cooler left outside the camper door in the middle of the night.
I always lock up before I go away from the campground and hind from view things like electronics. I don't usually leave things sitting out that I think might be attractive to a thief. That said I have seen plenty of campsites where the people leave everything outside that they bring with them.
So how common is thief in campgrounds? What have other people experienced?
