It's nice seeing these new gasoline engines coming along these days.

Coming along? :? The "new" 7.3 Ford engine is reportedly going to be an "old" push rod design exactly like the "old" 6.0. Looks like the old is now new again.
The "old" push rod SBC is #1 in the world for circle track racing. Just think about that for a second. A 70 year old design is dominating racing...……….TODAY! Dominating! Looks like those old dinosaurs Ed Cole and Zora knew what they were doing right out of the gate!
The "old" push rod SBC and BBC design is the choice of most drag racers in the world today.
Ya, push rod engines are old as the hills but they are as dependable as a hammer and it looks like Ford is even acknowledging that.
IMHO all GM has to do is come up with a low boost single turbo 5.0 to 6.0 all iron engine. They need to design it for a constant 375 or so HP. Sea level= 375 HP. 5,000 feet up= 375 HP. 10,000= 375 HP with a dead flat torque curve. Now that would make a killer tow engine!
