Sorry your outing was acoustically ruined. Similar situation in my last two outings to the coast. I think satellite TV makes it too tempting for weekend campers to sit indoors during prime time and let the rest of us listen to their gensets.
I have to use my BOSE noise cancelling headphones way to often when camping these days.
