Earlier that evening we were all sitting at the picnic table drinking the different beer that various folks would bring over (by the box) about every half hour. Every time Bob grab a new bottle, cracked open and set it down, I would grab it and take chug and thank him. Then tell him he looked thirsty and should get himself a beer. :B

Frank, thanks for posting this! I just caught the news the other day and was pretty shocked. 63 is too young.

Bob genuinely wanted to make a better TC and was always open to ideas. I remember causally mentioning something about lighting under the wings to help load the TC at night and I could see his mental gears turning and considering....he wanted to listen and analyze any ideas for a TC and would make it happen if he thought it was a good idea. I met him at a few shows...both the Denver RV show and the Sportman's Expo. He was one of those guys that brought a smile to your face just seeing him.

The "Command Seating" was another one he did I don't remember seeing in any TC until they did it:

Bob thought the world of you too!

When we were parked in your spot in his back yard for a few days one of the things that that he told me was that he thought was really special... the name that he occassionally posted to the TC forum under... and I know that you knew...

We hoped to visit him and heather in Yuma... it just didn't work out.

Yep, Bob was among the very best of the best. The world was a better place becaause he was here.

Bob is definitely on my list of most influential people I have ever met. That little dude had a knack for detail, and some serious wood working skills. I told my family (wife and kids) this morning, and I could tell in their facial expressions, and voice that he meant something to them as well.

We had the opportunity spend time camping in Bob and Heather's back yard on two different occasions. Bob took to my son Tanner like a grandpa, and my son had a blast fishing with him and roasting hot dogs for lunch up at Chute Lake.

Bob would also sneak my wife and I into the PDX RV shows each year through a back door, and slap a Snowriver hat on me and a vest on her to look "Official". Then whisked us off to the snack bar to buy us both a "Bud".

We had fun camping with him again out in Nebraska during the first Truck Camper show. Stayed up late drinking beer with Bob, and all the other camper CEO's and truck camper friends was a great experience.



Bob, you will be missed by myself and my family. Hopefully GOD will make you CEO of Cloudriver Campers up there, and let you get some heavenly innovations going on their RV's up there. :W

Roughly 5-8 potential custmers standing behind Bob as he explained how he glued the ladder on, and even without screws it would hold his weight.

When I heard that Bob was closing his plant I drove 700 miles to purchase the last 10.8 I could find. The care that when into every camper he built was obvious, I was amazed the first time I had the opportunity to check one out, the quality was far above the other brands that I had looked at, especially when you looked in the dark corners that are generally hidden from view. We knew we would be passing by Bob’s plant a couple of weeks later on our way west, so I called him to ask if he would install an air conditioner on our unit... no problem he says! As it turns out it was the very last day for the plant, he was closing it at noon, and had a round of golf booked for that afternoon. Even though we were a bit late he kept his doors open and got our air installed, he even had time to have a conversation on where he thought the future of campers was going. I believe I had the honor of being his last customer.

Thanks budster, what a wonderful video. he sure was a great guy. Im glad I had the time to chat with him and also own a SR as well.

Feels like an era has passed now that I hear Bob is gone. How sad. I did not know he was sick.

I did not buy a SnowRiver camper when I met Bob, I had already made my purchase of a Northern Lite before I went on the company tour. He was a very great person and showed my wife and me some truely wonderful hospitality and Generosity.

When I told him I intended on paying when mentioning what parts I needed, he refused my payment and sent them to me anyway. It was amazing to know and have met someone like Bob Mehrer. He is an example to us all.

I met Bob at a sportsman show where he had some of his campers set up in Redmond Oregon. I had talked with him before that about his campers when I was looking. A friend bought one of his campers at that show. I had bought my Bigfoot by then & was complaining to him about the cubby storage in the bed area how they didn't have a way to keep them open like his campers did. Well he sent me some of the hydraulic lift mechanisims to solve that problem even though I didn't have one of his campers. Bob was a very personable man & will be missed by all that he has touched their lives. RIP BOB.
