Acrylic Roof on Arctic Fox 1140

I have a 3 month old AF1140 and roof has about 10 dozen bubbles, one the size of my foot.
The Mfg says that's normal but my local repair guy, whom I've known since middle school, says that this is not normal.
Does anyone have any experience with bubbling acrylic roofs?
  • I was wondering if you talked to your dealer Apache RV in Oregon. It is not clear to me you did this. Kevin Baker is listed as the owner.
  • Not sure what you mean......"the mfg says that's normal..."? Did you talk to AF HQ in LaGrande OR? What was his or her name ?
  • campers don't have a bumper to bumper warranty, cuz there's only one bumper!

THey do have a warranty though.

    Roof bubbling is not normal.
  • If it's a new unit, I would insist the Mfg. take care of it .
Its under the bumper to bumper new warranty right ?

Its not supposed to bubble up . It was probably not prepped right from the Mfg.
On older units, where they have been cleaned repeatedly with incorrect cleaners, I have seen them bubble due to glue separation. But, that's not the case with your camper.

I have had bubbles in rv roofs that didn't leak and didn't become worse over time, they remained the same size and didn't leak.

  • Thats not normal. I have no bubbles in my 4 year old AF 1140. Those roof membranes are glued down. If you have bubbles then the roof wasn't glued properly.
