Its probably not a big deal but I would check with the DOT/DMV office first to see if what you want to do is approved for your local state...
Hate to pay out for new lights and then have to remove them to pass your state inspection...
I do know the lights must have a DOT approval numbers stamped on the lens... Another issue is your license plate holder requires a light on it above the License plate on the rear...
Used to run into this all the time back in my OFF-ROAD JEEP Days...
