One big question! WHY? Do you think it is important for you to have stop lights higher than any other vehicle on the road? Your marker lights are high! All 5 of them! A lot of work and expense that is not needed!
I have traveled in 45 of the 48 states.
I see cars tailgating all the time.
My, travel trailer's stop and turn lights are average heights.
Probably, no more than a couple of cars can see them behind me. Any farther back and there is no guarantee that other cars can see my stop/turn lights.
I want to avoid a possible chain reaction accident from the rear if I had to stop, suddenly. I have seen chain reaction slowdowns, where some cars will move to the shoulder to give room for the car behind some room or to keep from hitting the car in from of them.
Every once in awhile, I find myself traveling thru a very rough section of interstate highway that requires me to slow down to around 55 mph. The speed limit can be as high as 70 mph. I-10 in west Louisiana, there are many miles of very rough concrete that shakes us very violently at 70 mph. We have to slow down!
Added stop/turn signals would give drivers farther back the ability to see me and get in another lane to go around. Being an ex truck driver, I know the truck drivers would appreciate a heads up of a emergency flashers on a slow vehicle.
Is it worth it? I'll never know if an accident was prevented.
This is just a small act of safety, for me.
I hope this clears up the "why".
