- opnspacesNavigator III second, third, fourth or whatever the count is. I would email Keystone with the VIN and get the correct answer. I'll bet it has the bracing installed.
- clubhouseExplorerWe carry a collapsable ladder. 12' collapses to <3' for easy storage.
- modern_familyExplorerJust email keystone with your question and VIN number and they will tell you if you have the backing. That is what I did. No ladder, DOES NOT mean you can't walk on it. Watch a video how just about every keystone TT is made on you tube, you will see that all have the same 3/8 plywood and roofing material on top of that. They can be walked on for maintenance without a problem. A party deck it is not!!

Thanks everyone for your input on my ladder questions. We picked up the Outback today and I asked the person who did our PDI (he was the service manager) and you are all right....my trailer cannot take a ladder as there is no bracing on that back wall. So we will just have to go with carrying around a ladder.
I think you need to do your homework vs. relying on a service manager. Call Keystone or go to their website. You will see that prior to the most recent 2014's that started to be produced in Ocotber 2013 that all Outbacks came braced for a rear ladder. Standard features for new Outbacks being produced after Oct 2013 has the rear ladder installed. Are you getting a New or just a New To You (Used) Outback? If you are getting one that is 10 years old it might be a different story. - callans1ExplorerThanks everyone for your input on my ladder questions. Took about 4 hours to unload from the old trailer into the new and the dealer was very cooperative in letting us doing right at their facility. I had no idea we accumulated so much in just one short year.
Tomorrow we will finalize the location of some of the last minute transfers we didn't get a chance to put in exactly where we wanted.
But it will be fun trying to remember where things are in the new camper as there is so much additional storage in this one.
New trip scheduled for June 22 at Otter Lake...... - AlbertaNewbieExplorerMine doesn't have a ladder, but asked for wall framing schematics and it is framed for one. The same wall is used on many different models on the line and it's easier to use one wall and just drop it on multiple rigs, takes even more brains out of the assembly line...cause they don't have brains to start with.
- CeciltExplorerI have a 2014 Outback 323BH. No ladder came with my unit but the back was was braced for a ladder. Thought that was weird that Keystone would brace it but not even have it as an option. Guess what, the newer 2014's all started to come standard with a ladder installed. Mine was just an earlier 2014 build. I ordered one and had it installed in March. Works and fits perfectly. Call Keystone or look on line and pull your brochure. Will state if it is braced for a ladder.
- dockmasterdaveExplorerI don't have an Outback, nor do I know anything about them, so take this for what it is worth: when I bought another trailer way back when, I was told if it didn't have a ladder, the roof was meant to be walked on. Just check it out...
X2 My owners manual states that you should not walk on the roof without using plywood or similar to spread out the weight. If you stayed exactly on the rafters you should be OK, but I won't risk it.
I just won't carry so much stuff, that it won't all fit in the truck and trailer. - Jay_PatExplorer

In a discussion with a dealer I was told that if the trailer did not come with a ladder, it was likely the needed reinforcements weren't behind the skin of the trailer. Without the reinforcements there was a danger the ladder would not stay.
This would be my concern....
I carry a ladder.

Spot on. I was told the same. You really need to tap into the studs and they are not the same space as the ladder. I was quoted $275 for a ladder install but that was on my old aluminum sided model. Even the factory models don't look like they would support much more than a flag pole and a laundry line. :)
