Adventure 80rb

Then you will like the 86 fb model. 4 season, Big tanks, dual batteries, dual propane, generator ready dual pane windows, power awning was real nice and we loved the wet bath.. It was very large..that model year did not have led bulbs inside but i bought some on Ebay for 26.00 bucks and changed them all to led.

i own a fifth wheel now that we have on a seasonal site
planning on a few road trips in future and we wanted the ease of TC for travel
and i like to get off the beaten path to explore
the extra capacity of holding tanks is what i like the best as it gives more options on were to spend our nights on the the road
think i will go with bigger unit now and upgrade truck

I own an 2013 89RB and have a 2013 F250 4x4 shortbed. Did a trip to NorCal on the coast. Had a wonderful time. Much less tiring on the driver than a fifth wheel or trailer. Got about 14mpg. So far have not boondocked, but hoping to this winter. Have really enjoyed the flexibility of just stopping someplace and taking a nap.

I Owned a 2012 Adventurer 86 fb for over a year. You state your is gvwr is 9400 and wheels are rated at 3640 lbs. My 2006 Dodge 2500 is rated at 9000. I had 17 inch Forged aluminum wheels which I read were rate at 3300 or 3400 lbs. and Nitto high load index tires. The terra were rated at 3750 lbs. I did add a leaf spring to each rear pack. Air bags, Bilstein shocks, and Helwig sway bar. My Dodge trucks axle is rated at 10,800 lbs. I do not have an upper overload spring. I assume your ford 250 has one. If you have one it will help with sway. I traveled near 10,000 miles with my set up no problems except for a little sway due to no top overload leaf spring. The 86 fb is tall with basement storage. I was looking into a pair of Super springs. Other than that my truck never new it was there. Sold it only because DW and I planned on buying a Fifth wheel but our circumstances changed. Wish I still had it to this day. I carry a 4000 lb. 11' 3" foot lance 990 now but upgraded to 19.5 wheels and tires. IMHO go for the 86 FB.

i have a 2011 f250xl with 9400 gvwr i think its lower than 9900 or 10000 because of the stock 17" steel wheels is this correct? or is there another factor
we really like the 86fb it was a 2012 model and cheaper than the new 80rb
i did replace stock wheels with 18" 6 spoke Lariat type and tires rated for 3640lbs
with stable loads, rear-sway bar etc would truck be ok with the 3000+ lbs loaded weight of the 86fb?
i weighed my truck loaded at 7000lb and the 80rb loaded was around 2400 to put me right at my mark
not really sure on which model i can replace truck in a couple of years but camper will be long term

I accept the safety, but just could not have consistent results for all the drama involved.

I have refilled the smaller green bottles, but like you, with limited success. Once I read about the safety issues involved, I stopped refilling them. To me it's just not worth the risks only to save a couple of bucks.
The steak saver type adapters are great in a pinch and if your like me, I get pinched a lot.
I have never seen a steak saver adapter that can be used to refill old green bottles as well, but I could be wrong.

I have tried several methods and the best I have done is about 50% full.
