We were there in October last year with our grandkids. It was great. We stayed in the 400 loop which is near the landing so we could walk to the boat. The Hoop de Do Revue is right there along with a store so you can pick up things on the way back from the Magic Kingdom. You can also walk out to the road and grab a bus for Animal Kingdom. We were within walking distance of the Dog Park and the Meadow Trading Post where they have a pool and the Chip and Dale night time campfire programs. The other neat thing about the time of year we were there was the Halloween Celebration that was going on for the whole month. Many campers would decorate their campers and campsite and one night the magic Kingdom had trick or treat. The crowds weren't bad.We never waited to see a show and most rides we got in quickly. Some of the more popular ones had waits of a half hour but the lines kept moving so it didn't seem that long. And the weather was perfect.Low 80's no humidity and no rain. You have the same service you get in the Disney Hotels. We had a concerje who took care of any needs we had.We had a reservation for our grand daughter to get made up like a Princess in Cinderella's Castle. Our reservation was for 9am but the boat doesn't leave for the Magic Kingdom until 8:30.We got to the landing about 8:50 and sought out an employee who directed us to a supervisor who said "follow me" and rushed us through the gates and into the park before the park opened. Staying in Ft Wilderness was definately the way to go for us.We had a great time.
